RLH were appointed by Wales & West Housing Association in 2021 to investigate the development potential of a parcel of land forming part of a wider allocation within Pembrokeshire County Council’s LDP1.
The vision for the Fishguard site was to deliver 100% affordable housing to help meet local housing need within the ‘Hub Town’ of Fishguard and the surrounding area. The development was designed to provide high-quality, aesthetically pleasing and sustainable affordable homes, tailored to the needs of the local community. The properties were also intended to be energy efficient, achieving EPC A ratings, while remaining low maintenance and supporting wider low-carbon objectives.
Following a lengthy and challenging planning process, the scheme secured planning approval in December 2022. Development commenced in early spring 2023, with the first residents moving into their new homes in late 2025.
The feedback received since completion has been overwhelmingly positive. As a scheme delivered within our home town, many of the residents are known to us personally, giving the project an especially meaningful and rewarding feel.
