RLH have been responsible for gaining planning permission on a 30 unit ‘exception’ site in Fishguard with Wales and West Housing Association for much needed affordable housing. The site is was completed in February 2019. The scheme brings together a mix of materials and finishes to reflect the local vernacular as well as offer a bold design statement and challenge perceptions of just what an affordable housing scheme should look like. Situated on the fringe of this ‘Hub Town’ , it offers access to all local amenities as well as fantastic transport links to the local county town of Haverfordwest and beyond.
The properties themselves are constructed in an ecologically sound timber frame, with enhanced levels of insulation, air tightness and coupled with the elimination of thermal bridging, offer an extremely thermally efficient dwelling, with exceptionally low CO2 emissions and therefore benefitting the occupants with very low running costs.
